Is GH3, just the game, coming out for PC?

I saw the GH3 for PC with the same controller as the GH2 for the 360. I know the GH2 controller works on the PC as I have connected it. Any word on if they will just sell the PC game or will they only sell the whole package? No sense getting the package as I already have the guitar. Anyone know???

Yeah, I'm working my way thru hard mode now. Nailed easy and medium. All gold in easy and medium, can barely get 3 stars in hard.🙂

ive played it and well IMO its pretty damn boring, and not so much fun

I play real guitar AND love the game. It is possible to love both and do well in both. The game is completely different from the real thing so I don't see why there's all sorts of hating going on. The real deal is much more frustrating starting out and takes infinitely more time to get any good. Not everybody can do it... that's why there's the game.

And with guitars... you get what you pay for. Even if you're good, a $100 guitar will sound like garbage. But a $300 guitar will sound damn near album true if you have your amp set up right.

That's a piece of shit starter pack. The fake guitar will make better music than that abomination. Some of us have the capability and open mindedness to enjoy both videogames and real instruments. Just because I have 3 guitars and can play the piano doesn't mean I'm above shredding on the Xbox with my friends that can't.

the game is awesome, guitar player or not. I play guitar and love it. My friends dont play and they love it. Its a fun game that people of all ages like. and yeah that starter pack is shit, like most starter packs.

I'm a better real guitar player than a Guitar Hero player. (Check out my band here.) I don't use my little finger for real leads, so it's a stretch (no pun intended) for me to hit the blue button and the orange may as well be next door. Also, my tendency to strum as I would play the real songs and push and pull on the beat's groove doesn't mesh well with the mechanics of the game. I still enjoy the game, but am more frustrated that I'm going to be hard pressed to handle Hard, much less Expert, difficulty.

Of course, when I see someone ace Dragonforce or "Psychobilly Freakout", I just want to hand them a six-string and ask them to play a basic I-IV-V progression. Heh.

Well after playing Madden '08, I think I can be a real contender for a 1st string quarterback position for an NFL team. Oh, and I think I'm a pretty good running back and wide receiver. I've never played football, but I think my Madden skillz will speak for themselves when I show up for the real try outs.


For all the GH hating retards, it's just hand eye coordination, that's it. The next time I see someone posting about Crysis, I'll ask, "hey, why don't your get off you ass and join the military and shoot REAL guns."

Once you have decent hardware. There's definitely a peak as to how good things can hear... as I think my $300 Schecter sounds as good as my buddies $1200 Gibson Les Paul. But with IMO those starter packs don't sound good regardless of how you play. How can you get a wailing solo going when the guitar kills harmonics? (Natural and pinch)

For the people that haven't played the game and are wondering how it can be fun, here's my best description:

The game field looks like a guitar neck, and colored "notes" fall from the top, tetris-like in 5 slots, left to right. As the note hits the bottom of the screen, you need press the same colored button on the neck of your guitar, and the strummer bar, which is a "flipper" that can be strummed up or down, which represents the strings. That's pretty simple.

The easy levels are VERY easy for a beginner to video gaming, guitars, or both, to play immediately and have fun. The songs are built to get more challenging as you progress. Most of the music are (usually) very good covers that have been recreated for the game. Some bands have come back to rerecord their songs for the game. This is necessary because if you play the wrong note, you get a "blonk" sound of the frets, instead of the guitar track. It really gives you the feel of playing a guitar, or at least that you are really helping to create music, anyways. 🙂

I highly recommend that every one play it at least once. I saw it in the stores when it came out, and thought it looked stupid. A friend brought it over to a party, and everyone, including myself, was consumed with it. The Wii is the only thing that's shelved GH from the most recent parties.

I find it interesting that so many games have been released lately that have crossover appeal to non-gamers.

I'll be curious to see if GH3 for the PC receives any patches to run more smoothly, as I've heard that it has ridiculous system reqs...
