I'm thinking about starting an account, but I just wonder if it's a hasel.
I'm also wondering if it's really that secure?

I use it all the time. If you do sign up make sure it get the atm card. Free, and makes it really easy to withdraw money.

It's completely hassle-free and very worth it. I see no reason to not join if you think you'll actually use it.

If you use ebay get it, a lot of people won't take anything else. And they get very pissed if you win a Paypal only auction but don't have Paypal.

I vote worth it.

I have had it for a few years, makes things easier for me and the other party: payment is instantly transferred to the seller, and the buyer doesn't have to pay extra fees for getting a money order written or mailing it.

(though these fees are in essence taken from the seller's side of the deal, with a ~3% charge)

Don't do it man, I recommend against it b/c it makes it to easy to buy stuff. Also, it takes at least 3 minutes to sign up for it, and that's if your fast. So unless you have that amount of spare time then just skip it and do something more useful, like read up on ATOT.

The process of signing up is painless and only takes a few minutes to do. But, PayPal is the work of the Devil - because they are owned by eBay.

It's eBay's way of hitting you up twice on auction payments. Genius, actually; before they only took you for final value fees; now they get another 2.9% on PayPal CC payments.
