There's a big deal going on right now, Lucas has said he won't put the "original" Star Wars movies on DVD, just the extended versions.
Obviously there's a big hubbub since tapes don't last as long as DVDs, I know my tapes of the original versions are getting a little screwy.
But here's the dumb aspect - most everyone I know who's a big Star Wars fan owns the original trilogy as well as the special editions. I'm pretty sure the same thing would hold true if they released both versions to DVD.
So obviously it's not a money thing, because he'd make two sh*tloads of money by releasing both versions, rather than just a sh*tload with the special editions.
Thoughts?
