is FRAPS an acurate measure of framerate

ok i played fear with fraps on and it always show fps above 25. but still i notice lag.
could this be cuz the gfx is rendering the frames but due to low ram its not getting ifo fast enough or is it something else.

Always worked fine in comparison to in game stress tests for me....

Definately upgrade your ram. I cannot imagine running a dual core with only 512MB of memory. One buys a dual core so that they can multitask effectively. But with only 512MB of ram, you have effectively eliminated the ability to multitask smoothly.

It probably shows 25FPS because the screen is siezing do to hard drive access. Upgrade your ram, I stopped using only 512MB 4 years ago.

i see so my strong gpu is limited by low ram. sucks but i don't have any moaney these days to upgrade. well thanks for your replies atleast i know that fraps is not wrong.
