Is failure to admit to being wrong, failure to apologize, a sign of weakness?

The persoanl attacks made by name here are bullsh*t! The forum states that personal flames will not be tolerated so come on Mods, time to lay a smackdown ain't it?

Man...I thought I was the only one this bothered.

The failing to comment on threads about subjects they cannot defend at all always seemed like a better tactic to me. They can always just pretend they didn't even see it then...just like the rest of their life.

Being wrong does not warrant ridicule, refusing to admit it does.
Naming names and taking pot shots at those said individuals is just as immature and spineless as refusal to except being wrong IMO.

That's called ridicule.

As long as we're agreed that it's spineless and immature 😉 What good does it do to admit when your wrong if you turn around and call attention to others failings? You are no longer the better individual at that point and have lost the high ground IMO. I would define it as being vindictive, not the greatest characteristic to possess either. Certainly no better than being incapable of admisson of an error. It's just my opinion so take it as you will 🙂

No high ground sought here. As I said earlier in the thread, I consider the fact that this bugs me as much as it does to be a character flaw. I wish it didn't bother me, but it does. (of course I wish that these cowards would just admit it when they're wrong, too 😉 )

Yea people like CAD and heatsurgeon have such enormous egos, that they are unwilling to admit they are ever wrong. Even when they have their backs cornered to the wall they still try to dodge and evade the truth.

CAD is actually very good at admitting he is wrong. He almost always does so by:

1. Blaming Clinton;
2. Changing the subject;
3. Saying "carry on";
4. Or, some other non sequitur.
🙂

HS usually never replies. He's too busy in his life's work-removing the hearts from all humans, one at at time. 🙂

You really must give chess a pass. He has tried so hard to hit that ever elusive high note for such a long time now. 😉

In the spirit of special olympics, I even find myself cheering him on. 🙂

But for Dave,, :middlefingerup; 😛
