IS-F in tire-smoking action

Where'd you get that idea from? It's got a 5.0l gas powered V8... no batteries or electric motors.

Nice video...for some reason I just can't get into the look of the thing. I think the regular IS350 looks nice...I'm not too into the IS-F though.

No battery eh?

Yea but i mean the motorsport versions of the cars, like the 3 Series, A4, IF series.. Not sure about the Mercs, they've used V8's for ages.. But cars in that type of market.. Ever since the RS4 they've started using V8's, they sound nice but pretty similar between them..

Anyway i was half making a joke of it! 😛

Sorry, we tried a V7 and a V9 but those didn't work.

BTW-The two cars in the video look like regular IS350's. I don't see the ugly hood bulge or the weird looking vents behind the front wheels.

The IS-F looks like a clumsy effort to make a bland car look aggressive. IMO there really hasn't been a single Lexus that has really hit a home run in terms of styling, nor do they have anything approaching a consistent brand "look" (though they are indisputably excellent mechanically). I guess I'm just not interested in their 8-speed-automatic-equipped "sport sedan," even if it has vertically-stacked exhaust pipes and a gaudy white leather interior.

Yeah... clever. Went right over my head.

You know what I mean.. no battery packs that come with hybrids.

I like the styling of the IS and the interior is sweet but it's a little cramped and I'm not crazy about the front seats. It would be nice if they would at least offer a 6spd manual gearbox in the IS350. The car would be a bigger hit if they'd address those issues.

I'm concerned about their test driver...he keeps on losing the back end around the corners, which can't be good for his lap time.

*crickets*

It's a promo video, not a race.

Help! I'm drowning in all this sarcasm!

Anyway, that sounds absolutely...delicious? Can things sound delicious? Well anyway, it's awesome...can't wait to see one. And in about a month, the auto show season starts and I get to at least sit in all these pretty cars.

Still no final power figures though? I'd really like to know the specific output. It already has more tire shredding, barrier carrying torque than the competitors, how about hp?

Because NA (best power) comes with bigger engines and more luxurious cars can afford bigger engines?

Edit- I had the page open all day and didn't refresh, doh!

I think the IS350's are teh sex looks wise, but as you mentioned no 6spd and the inability to completely turn off their invasive electronic nanny system kill the car from a performance perspective IMHO.
