Asian persuasion here.

5'9" 160lbs - white gfs have stated that I'm above avg for all races

Question for asians - do you consider being the term "banana" as an insult? I don't and consider myself one. Just curious b/c I know some do.

I don't find it that insulting unless the person was using it as an insult. I am an American first. I do enjoy having some Chinese/Taiwanese culture though.

What is funny though is I am 6'0" and about 195-200 lbs. I am pretty fit to. One of my friends introduced me to one of his friends. My friend later told me the guy was shocked to find out I was fully asian. ;)

He said, "He can't be asian, he is too big. I have never seen an asian that looks like he can play football before." :Q  I thought it was hilarious. Especially since I am not that big. Actually pretty average for the general population (except for my quads ;) ). I guess rack it up to living in the South. :p

**EDIT**
I know of at least 4 guys who are asian, that are huge. I am talking 6'5"+ and pretty fit themselves. But of course that is very uncommon.

is that where your username comes from? big body? not to say you're fat or anything, i dont even know you.

Hahaha, I didn't even notice that actually. No that isn't why that is my user name, but that is a funny coicidence. Is that correct in pinyin anyways?

pretty much. i guess if you wanted to be completely correct it would be "da shen ti" but you know how chinese is with leaving out words. i think.

I am asian. I am 6'1 175lbs. Well.. all my asian male friends are pretty much in the 5'9 - 5'11 range, but the asian girls I know are rather short though.. probably like 5'3-5'5 on average.

at least it's a positive stereo-type. People from all races want to be part of Anandtech. I'm latino, for the record. Hispanic means from spain which I may just be since I'm mostly white, but it has a negative connotation. I don't need spain in order to have an identity of my own. :)

obviously everyone here is asian or likes the asian culture better than their own. This is a TECH website. TECH=ASIANS. They are the ones that create and innovate in the tech space, so naturally this site has mostly asian users. If you want the typical idiot demographic/race on the internet, go somewhere else like youtube...

On the contrary. If there's one culture I hate most it's the Chinese/Japanese/Korean culture.

You all knew that one asshat would eventually post in this thread. Thanks for sharing your ignorance. You listed three separate distinct cultures but you would have had to be intelligent to know that. Too funny...

I'm talking about the average south Californian asian kid from suburbia and his view on culture. Too many of them worship anime, Halo, and Starcraft and bitch about their parents being too strict.

I don't hate asians. I simply hate the ones that act in the way I stated above, which is sadly a large percentage. Not that only asians are like that either... the whole Japan worship is common among whites as well.

I personally dislike anime, but Japan is a safe country to live in. Any place low on crime is fine by me.
