Is EVERY Gundam Series the same?

The plots are like, exactly the same, right down to the newtype/coordinators and the "cyber newtypes"/whatever the GS earth equivalent of them are; both have totally irrational fears.

I thought that watching Zeta Gundam might be interesting, but it's exactly the same as the more recent series, so I have a hard time watching it.

There are a few good anime series. Gundam is most definately not one of them.

I liked GS (and to a lesser extent, GSD) because it was about the right legnth and the art was fricken sweet. The 70's/80's look with the exact same plot just isn't doing it for me though.

The largest and most obvious problem with Gundam, like many other anime series, is that it is not Berserk. If it was Berserk it would be the greatest anime ever.

I'm about to start watching that tonight.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty pumped.

Started watching it... it has a pretty crazy midevil feel, and there's practically no character development so far. Idk if I like it or not yet, but it's going to have to do better than this.

old UC(universal century) series ftw. 90% of the alternate timeline stuff is blaaargh. i especially can't stand the crappy character designs of moderm stuff like GS and GSD.

Idk. Zeta gundam is just too damn similar to GS for me to bother watching again, and the artwork isn't nearly as good (although I'm sure it was great for the time).

Edit: Whoah, berserk is getting pretty intense.

******, that dude just got shot in the ****** EYE!!!

Edit: twice.

If you haven't gotten into the character development, then you haven't gotten too far. Berserk is one of the best series I've seen.

Yea, I was a tad too demanding of the first episode, I suppose. Diggin' the flashbacks. And this guy is seriously a pimp. Man. He's owning everything. Day-um.

Berserk takes a few episodes for the real character development to begin. You're filled with some serious doubts within the first 5 episodes or so as to whether it's going to be any good or not, but before you know it you won't even be thinking about how good it is because you'll be to engrossed in it to even bother analyzing it. Berserk is just too good.

I've heard people like that show, but I've never seen it rank that high up on any sorts of lists.

I should have a lot of free time now though over the summer, so .

I'll watch a lot of this stuff, I suppose.

Whoah, nude guy water fight scene = WTF. Amusing though.
