Best rapper of all time?
He's a legit good one, but ah not even close. Obviuosly you've never heard of KRS 1, Chuck D, Ole Dirty Bastard, Biggie Smalls, Snoop, Rakim, LL Cool J, god the list is long. He's a good one though. He may sell more records and make more money. But hes got a ways to go before he can crack the conversation of greatest rapper of all time tho. I like his stuff a lot tho. He aint no joke.

"The funny thing is.....I like all the older Stuff like Bone Thugs N Harmony, but most of the new rappers just scream (DMX)."

I agree. LOL! The new style rapping, also known as hardcore rap is comparable to heavy metal/hard rock. I can't stand it. I like the old raps. 😀

I hardly ever heard any songs by Eminem, as I basically don't listen to rap anymore, except the old ones. However, I did get to hear a little of his music last night when they gave a report about him on CBS' 60 Mins. I found it interesting. I think that what really attracts people to him is his lyrics. People love what's provocative. For instance, Madonna was never fascinating in skills and probably would never have made it in the music industry, but she was willing to sell her body as a sex object. The same is applicable to many female singers now. It's no longer about skills, but how much you have to offer as a whole or how radical your message is. Don't get me wrong: There are still people with real talents, but most are being ignored.

what a dumb statement, every genre has its talented artists, and if you don't respect other people's likes and dislikes then don't judge them.

So can Biggie, Nas, and Tupac; IMO they are better than Eminem who is good but not the best.

Best and most-loved by white suburban 12-year-olds are two completely different things. 2Pac was the best rapper of all time and always will be - this is undisputable. I despise rap nowdays, but him i will gladly listen to. His songs tell stories, teach lessons - he was a talented poet and a wise thinker.

OK, how can "Guns N' Roses: Appetite for Destruction" can have peak position #1 when the Eagles or Michael Jackson Album has been released so much earlier? And I think the most albums where sold when they first came out, no?

eminem is good, ver good. But he's not the best. He's popular because white america can identify with him. While he may be a good storyteller, he can't cypher or do free-style like the best of 'em. And let's not forget who's doing the beats for Eminem, Dr. Dre.

Eminem isn't straight rap he's a little more hip-hoppy than most rappers... better than the vast majority of other rappers though, much more unique and theres actually a purpose and feeling put behind the lyrics.

He's good but he's not the best. If I had to pick a rapper that I would consider the "best rapper of all time", I'd have to pick 2Pac. There was just something about him that I really liked. 🙂
