Is ECS a good mobo manufacturer

ECS motherboards are generally very stable but not very overclocker friendly. I recently bought an ECS K7S5a myself (I killed it yesterday in a bad bios flash...).

I believe that ECS is the second largest mobo manufacturer in the world. Anyone have a direct quote verifying this statement?

I've never had any experience using their boards, but I've heard some not so good things about them with the exception of their new Sis 735 mobo.

ECS is really a part of the same comopany that makes PC Chips, Alton and some other brands--all generally regarded as bottom feeders. In my personal experience, PC Chips is the only mobo I've ever seen to have physically blown up voltage regulators, but I have not seen the same on ECS boards...
. However, people seem to love this new SiS 735 based board and it is probably what I will get when I upgrade--only time will tell.

They shipped the second most motherboards in the first half of 2001, that's pretty much all known about them. They're not even in the top 3 of Taiwan, but not small by any means.
