I was reading the bible. I'm not nearly close to finished. So, I was just wondering if downloading movies/games/software I guess "ILLEGALLY" from the internet was a "SIN" in any way.

You didn't get too far it seems.

Thou shalt not steal.

I lied. That commandment means that you should not kidnap people. Doesnt say anything about stealing another person's possessions which is protected by Man's laws.

According to the Bible, unless a man-made law conflicts with a god-made law, the man-made laws will be respected by God and He made it a sin to break them.

It's pretty much like US Federal Constitution versus the state constitutions.

Thou shalt not steal.

Well, I knew about that, prior to reading. But who says that the thing I downloaded was "THEIRS".

Does the bible define Ownership anywhere?

Umm, Man made law, Did he specify how many "MEN/WOMEN" i mean, I'm a man and if I made a law saying downloading is legal for myself, than it stands right? since there is no internet in the bible, god couldn't have specified a rule for it.

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's."

You might be a man but just saying something doesn't make it a law. Lookup the definition.

It's a tiered authority tree. You are on the bottom. Your laws (maybe like shoes off when in your home or something) stand within reason, but they don't overrule your municipal laws, which don't overrule the county law, state, federal, blah blah

Jesus himself violated copyright laws when he duplicated fish and loaves and distributed among a large crowd of people.

If he is God, then he did no such thing. He was the creator of them in the first place after all ;)

I recommend the path of the FSM where being a pirate is part of the religion!

QFT. Jesus stole from fish and bread merchants.

A) Jesus was a thief
or
B) Copying property and distributing it among lots of people is legal.

There is no telling how much profit the bread bakers lost.
