Is doing nothing, basically like doing heroin?

Yea, I don't get workaholics either.
It works the same way as any drug, you get a good feeling the first time you achieve something at work and spend the rest of your life chasing after this feeling, doping us is evolutions way of tricking us into doing things that will keep us alive.
I never got a buzz from just sitting down and doing nothing though.

Oh and I guess...

Waiting for OP to post a GoFundMe to buy some heroin so we can find out if he feels like they're the same after having tried it.

Negative .... doing something is like smoking crack

Doing everything all at once is like doing meth.

And posting in P&N is like huffing paint fumes.

I just assume this is what everyone posting there looks like behind their keyboard.

A co-worker mentioned dopamine fasting to me. It's where you spend 24 hours doing absolutely nothing except things that don't give you a dopamine hit - drinking water, sitting and thinking, writing, walking. It's supposed to "reset" your brain so that those little addictive things (social media, TV) that get in the way of your life don't give you such large dopamine hits.

I've yet to try it, but I can see how it could work out well.
That's probably among the saddest things I can imagine.
