Love buying from dell!! Sometimes I have experienced a slight delay in shipping but nothing too serious, maybe just a couple of extra days. But on the whole dell is great

I've bought many things there, computer systems, monitors, harddisks, I'm totally happy with them.
The computer system delivery may be some days after order date, but I think that's understandable. For other peripherals, I don't think there is any delay for the delivery.
It looks that I should write something for them now.

I bought my monitor from dell a few months back and it shipped the same day. I didn't have any problems.

Dell is up there with newegg.com and mwave.com for customer satisfaction. Great deals, good prices on general stuff, and hassle free shipping. A day or 2 is no loss for me so I think it's a good site.

each time I've ordered from Dell, there has been some sort of shipping snag, but the price I paid for the parts more than made up for it.

One time my order came in two boxes (shipped at the same time), one box was sent to my shipping address, the other was to my billing address, I had to wait a few days to get the one sent to my billing address, being that UPS doesn't ship to P.O. Boxes.

The other times were just shipping delays, one overnight shippment took about a week.

dispite the shipping errors, I would order from them again.

I don't have a real lot of faith with dell as far as selling computer parts, I think by far the best website to buy stuff on is newegg.com.

IMO newegg.com is overrated. I've seen many places with better prices and no problems so I wouldn't go by what people say so much.

I've ordered hardware from Dell 6-7 times and have never had any problems. Shipping times have been fine, packing is excellent and prices are good (when you're ordering during a special deal + using coupons).

Dell is the best place to buy when there is promotion + coupon + free shipping or even free next day shipping.

dell is pretty good. there are many places that are a lot worse. it u look on the hot deals forum, they handled the "WD 120gb SE for $80" fiasco pretty decently... sorta.

Except in the cases where you order a DVD burner on October 1st and still don't have it on December 5th, I guess they're fine. :disgust:

Nothing but good experiences for me when buying from Dell. Fairly priced, fast shipping, and no problems with support. Then again, I only buy components like monitors and such, never any pre-built boxes.

Dell is a very large, public company. A lot rides on their reputation as well as their sales. If there are problems, it's not because they're trying to intentionally screw you. Can't say that about some of these other fly-by-night places on the Net.

I would just like to say I have had major problems recently with Dell. I ordered a video card, and it hasn't come in 5 weeks even though I checked the order status. Last week, I said I wouldn't buy anything from them ever again if they didn't ship it in 3 days, and so far nothing has come of it.

But, this could definately just be an isolated event.

If I'm paying for overnight, I need to trust that I can order it at 10:00pm and have it on my desk the next morning. That's what overnight is all about. It's about building a trust relationship with a vendor to save your ass when the server goes down.

Dell doesn't do it. Newegg doesn't do it. Googlegear doesn't do it.

If you can wait, they're fine. But so is almost anyone else.

Majority of the people who ordered LCDs from them in the past few weeks have seen incredible service. I'm talking next day delivery on orders placed in the evening with free/standard shipping selected. Their method of communicating order status is pretty pathetic though. I didn't even get the e-mail confirmation, kept searching for it, then came home to find a 1900FP waiting for me :D

next day shipping = x+1 days.

x = go to warehouse, pick out the item, put it in box, print packing list/invoice, put it in, seal the box, print shipping label, peel it, put it on the box, wait for ups/fedex carrier, that's a lot of jobs, need x days. :)

Ya know, it's funny you mentioned that. I ordered a 21" P1130 Trinitron from them one Friday evening. The sale came with free shipping of my choice so I selected OVERNIGHT (I figured it was realistically 2 business days). Anyway, by Saturday afternoon I was having second thoughts because the thing was so expensive even with the sale, so I decided to call up CS to cancel the order. I figured since I hadn't received an email confirmation yet, the thing hadn't shipped. By the time it took for me to find the contact number, get the sales person on the phone, and just about to read off the order# to her, ...there was an Airborne Express guy knocking on my front door with a HUGE box.

I sighed and then just told the girl on the phone "nevermind, it's here"

They had waived the shipping cost of $160 to send me this thing overnight :Q

Incidently, I'm very glad to have purchased this monitor after all, it completely ROCKS :D

LOL! Yeah, I know that's how a lot of companies operate. That's why I only deal with those companies when getting something asap isn't an issue. When it's a now need, like a drive replacement, I use a company like Outpost, Zones, etc that can get it there the next morning, even if I order it at 10pm.

Personal and professional needs are often different. But it's a surprise to me that Dell doesn't cater more to the professional need.
