Is DC++ impossible with the way my campus is set up?

I'm trying to set up a DC++ server on campus and it's proving to be difficult.

The problem is that anyone in my dorm building can get into my hub, but no one from other dorms can browse anyone's files (we are all using the campus internet). They can still get into the hub, but they cannot establish a transfer connection with me it seems.

What's going on?

I'd venture a guess that you are on a seperate class C. Only 253 addresses can really "see" each other in the traditional LAN sense.
How many connections in your dorm?

Its the way the dorms connection is setup. You shouldn't be able to hit other buildings.

LOL!

yeah, I started in '93, and got about an AS and 2/3rd extra credits in 2000, one class at a time...
