I don't know why they wouldn't be able to, maybe from all of the injuries they would probably sustain? I've just been told that, and I know that my uncle had to lift a couple of them back up after they were pushed over, and after they got up, they were ok. I will definitely look into it more, Pacfanweb... I would agree with you, I just know what I've been told in regards to that.
OK, I've just talked to my father regarding this specific point. He grew up on our cattle ranch and still holds a share in it. He said that's utter hogwash. and though he said he's tipped a cow once or twice him himself, he's never heard of a cow not being able to get back up as you have described. Take it for what it's worth. 🙂
