I've got a fresh pair of chuck taylors, but I never wear them because my pants get stuck under the heel.

I didn't know they were ever consider ghetto. Two pictures come to mind:

1. 70's basketball player

2. 90's skater/grundge rock

I have 3 or 4 pairs of sketchers and I can honestly say they are nowhere near as comfortable for hanging around the house as my chuck taylors.

I bought a pair of converse basketball shoes, and they were better than both the Nike and Adidas pair I had before.

Yep, they are owned by Nike. I started wearing them in high school as part of my punkish look. Though I grew out of a lot of that stuff I still rock my chucks. They are damn comfortable.
