Is Compton, CA really as bad as it is said to be?

No, it's not that bad. I've only been to Compton once, for a few hours during the day and it basically seems like a clean neighborhood with a bad reputation for gang activity.

As far as that link that was posted goes, my city was all "X's" yet and still, there's not a neighborhood in this area I won't go into.

The fact of the matter is: nothing is ever as bad as the media makes it out to be (unless you live in South Africa).

I was on Normandy...I think. It was about 6 years ago. I was on a business trip and using a lot of G and her-on at the time, so I could be wrong. At any rate, who would go into the projects unless you lived in them? The projects are pretty much the same in any city you go to. I don't even remember seeing public housing in the city when I was there

haven't been to Compton...but I been to Camden, during the daytime too...was just driving through, glad I didn't have to stop at any redlights and stop signs were a "rolling stop" for me...
