I noticed ever since they gained control they've capped the upload from ~ 35 to like 14k a second. Anyone have any scoop on wether or not this is going to change? :disgust: ... i talked to a tech about 6 months ago and he said in about 2 months (4 months ago) that it would be full speed again. PUH.

Speaking from my Comcast technical support experience, your answer is a most definite "no" unless you're going to pay for a business account or something similar.

If they introduce tiered service (as I've heard they have plans to), you could probably pay more and get a higher upload cap. Otherwise, though, I'm guessing you will be SOL.

/me runs from the cappers :D

Yeah i remember when cable first came out in the neighborhood, and in other areas it was 50k up, and 1.5mb down? The we got ~35k up then comcast took over and it went to 15k....bah, so much for 'new high speed internet and making things work for you'.

When I first got my cable installed (@Home back then, Adelphia now) the techs down at the office had messed up whatever caps the modems. So I could download and upload at the max speed available on my node :) It was pretty sweet, but they fixed it in like a week... I was very sad.

I'm a victim of Charter Cable - probably just as Nazi - we have 128k upload caps too - but lately uploads have increase from about 14 to about 22-24 for some reason, out of nowhere....

Port blocking, upload caps, dynamic IPs, bandwidth sharing, download caps - we sure do have it rough...

well right now i have about a 100KB/s cap, so I'm happy as long as they don't change it :D

Well if you want to pay 95 bucks a month, they will increase your upload to 384 Kb/sec and dl to 3.5 megs a sec. It is however only available in Michigan.

there's talk on dslreports ATTBI forums of ATTBI having test areas in washington and some other places for 256Kbps upload.. and since comcast and attbi merged, it could be a possibility in the future.
