Are they? Because I was just looking at their ads and they are selling the PS2 for $299, still! I am surprised since I saw it at Record Town and that store that use to be Babbages for $199!

ads were submitted before the price cuts were known? which doesn't make sense since ps2 cuts were a day earlier... perhaps MS let distributors retailers know before the general public.

I've seen those price cuts ever since weds at the mall. How much time before hand is the ad made?

The Best Buy ad said $299 also but their websites say $199.

MS had been planning the drop for almost a month and had notified all retailers and when Sony caught wind they lowered, although they wont be able to get out the ads and tv commercials for roughly 2 weeks. Ads are usually printed 3 weeks to 1 month before they are inserted
