There is a difference between a war of choice (Iraq) and another country attacking us. #1, China couldn't invade us, its impossible. #2, if they somehow did, we'd have nearly all of europe backing us up.

That guy's a little...off.

Anyway, China has a few rogue generals that say stuff like this all the time, but have nothing to back it up. Pick apart his speech to show he's nuts: If China attacked Japan, the US, Austalia, or any other UN country- what would be the result? The UN would attack back! He said himself that Germany's big mistake was to attack too many enemies at once. Well...they would have a huge mistake on their hands when the whole world attacked back at them.

Next...how would they get here? China has NO Navy to speak of. Thier aircraft fleet is of poor quality. All they have is numbers as in population, and they have nukes (which they couldn't use in this case because the would want to inhabit the land they are attacking). In 5-10 years, the US's antimissle shield will be deployed anyway, so intercontinental payloads would be ineffective.

The Chinese have the same biological makeup as everyone else, and there is no known agent/chemical/toxin/or germ that will attack a specific race. If there was, genocide would run rampant everywhere.

So- there you have it, the guy is nuts. My theory is he was offered the roll of the villian in the new James Bond movie and he was just reading the script 🙂 All he needs now is an underground volcano lair.

Other then MAD china is not a military threat. Unless they invent some magic shield like you see on star trec there 20 ton tank will be tank out by 50 dollar RPGs. THere billion man army will be tank out by a few hundred 50 cal machine guns.

Oh but there sleep and plot. There not sleeping a plotting they are doing nothing because there is simple no way to invade countries any more. Short of a nuke you there anit no way in hell china or anyone else would be able to establish a beach head against a dug in enemy.

Of course China poses a threat and are worth keeping an eye on. That doesn't mean we can't trade with them and mutually profit from the relationship. Does this make us more vulnerable? Sure, but it also makes them more vulnerable. They have based the majority of their economic power on selling stuff to the US. We need each other, but while we can get other people to make our stuff (India, the rest of Asia, etc), they will have a hard time finding other people to sell their stuff to. I'm sure they'll think long and hard about that before doing anything stupid.

Edit: And that's of course ignoring that right now we would beat the tar out of them in any war that they started. They have enough people in their army to prevent an invasion, but they don't have the technology to project power anywhere near what we do. And despite all the noise, they aren't even close, and they aren't catching up all that fast.

china is not about the assualt the united states with military force, they have no means to get troops across the pacific, the US would have allies automatically through NATO (which didn't believe in a pre-emptive strike against IRAQ though most members fought in afghanistan in some way)

I do not disbelieve that China will attack the U.S.. However, this is a bunch of BS. If they are developing weapons to not kill the Chinese, they haven't done a very good job, as Chinese have mostly been the ones dying with the recent virii (soon they will make their way over here, but that usually take a year or so).

I say it will happen, because we're forcing the issue with the way we use and guard our energy resources. China and Russia (now openly allies) have been on track for preparing for an industrial crisis for some time, with China being at it a bit longer. When they take Taiwan back, it will open a big can of worms.

Also, I cannot imagine a successful genetic weapon. Given that most people's blood would be 'not pure', and those that are most deserving of producing new humans will defintitely be 'not pure', I have a hard time seeing a gene-based WMD doing anything but destroying most of the humans around, including those it was not supposed to. It would also destroy a pool of genes--human evolution--of hundreds of thousands of years worth of mutation and selection. The best way for mass killing, concerning human survival and advancement, would be to kill evenly over all breeds of humanity.

If anyone were stupid enough to make virii for it, we'd surely be in for some nasty times. In the real world, such a thing would find an avenue for mutation, and eventually thrive where it was not meant to. I doubt the Chinese would be stupid enough to do that, even if they felt they had reason for it.
