Is Chi real?

as in electrical energy flowing through your body? yes, it's called the nervous system.

can you manipulate it at will, and to what extent? no clue. i've heard stories but haven't seen anything that incredible with my own eyes.

yea it's real, but you don't get supernatural powers. It's different 'wells' in the body where the chi flows through and gathers, some martial arts promote the circulation of chi in the body and it is said that some sickensses are caused when the chi is blocked. That is also the basis of pressure point based MAs, you send your chi through your fingers on contact to disrupt the chi wells of another person to cause them injury.

as for manipulation, there is some but most of the stuff you hear about old masters sending people flying across the room is really issues of balance and the ability to move your body so you use all of your weight or mass in one hit.

theres stuff like people cracking open coconuts with one slap which I've seen, that stuff is beyond my understanding.

I've seen it in action. I think.

This guy told me to hold a thick phone book, and he had 2 random people bracing against me from behind. He did like a 4 inch punch onto the book and we all went flying backwards. He told me it was about channeling all your body's strength into one point.

I'll say it's real.

People say a lot of things, that doesn't make them true.

I ask you...did the sun revolve around the earth because everyone believed it? No.

For that matter, is God more real because six billion people believe in him? You might say yes from a metaphysical sense, but speaking strictly in a literal sense, no.

Basically, science (and facts) by consensus have no merit.

Sorry to pick on you, nothing personal, I just decided to extrapolate and go on a tangent to illustrate a point. 😎
