Is Cel2 533@800 a good match for a V5 5500?

Would there be much benefit to upgrading the cpu to a P3@933? Or is the celeron already maxing the V5 out? I generally run 800x600 w/2xfsaa.

How much difference does the L2 cache size make in games (I sim race mostly...GPL, NascarHeat,DTR)?
Sims generally focus more on physics modeling and graphics are secondary. NascarHeat is an exception and taxes the hell out of both cpu and vid card.

Any thoughts (relating to my question that is🙂 )?

Well, I have a TNT and my Athlon 750 with 192 mgs of ram and it is just getting maxed out now.... Personaly I would of went with a gts2, from that guy that sells them over on the trade forums. But I would save your money your going to pay for the upgrade and use what you got and upgrade in another 6 months, that would be best you get more bang for your buck. IMHO

Stop using the "voice of reason"! 🙂 Your right about waiting. I'm still curious about the cache thing and I have no way of verifying it one way or the other. It just strikes me that physics intensive software like driving and flight sims might be more cache reliant than some of the more graphics oriented games.

My understanding is that the faster the L2 cache is, the better for games. For business apps, though, more L2 cache is better.

Of course you can't have 0KB of double-speed cache for games. 🙂

Well, I have a C566@850MHz and I think it just maxed out my V3 3000, so I think it wouldn't really max out a V5 5500.
