When Bush was 20 he may have been smarter than a pair of Nike Air Max but his behavior in the intervening years has taken a substantial toll on his brain. He not only lacks confidence, he lacks the ability to articulate his ideas clearly. Fortunately, he won't really be running the country. Republicans have a history of nominating guys like Reagan, Bush, and Eisenhower who have at least the good sense to pick good soldiers for their team. For the most part, Bush has picked a pretty good team. Ashcroft is the major exception.

Bush isn't in the same league as Clinton, Nixon (who was smart but really sick), Wilson, FDR, or Kennedy.

I think we should all pray he doesn't screw up too badly.

What's the morbid fascination with Bush's intelligence? I thought we elected him for President, not Mensa membership or a contestant slot on Jeopardy....
