Is Bumping Allowed?

I just want to know if Bumping is allowed, I heard the Mods crack a narky with ya if you do, but i have seen people do it. Can anyone help?

Depends on the bumping. If it is to bump a buried hot deal it is ok; as is a AnandTech Moderator's post that has become unlocked from top. As for bumping in FS/Trade read AnandTech Moderator's post.
But if it is just to be a PITA by repeat bumps anywhere that is a no no.

Where is that AT Mod's Post? OK, so if you started a thread and you needed an answer quickly, or wanted more opinions, can you bump a thread in any forum? And by saying bump in the message, will it be put up the top, eg. i have said bump three times now..will this be at the top, or do you just have to say bump and nothing else?

Thanks for your help HawkeyeNJ

<<No excessive bumping of your own thread. No more than once every 4~6 hours>>

Taken directly from the FS/T Rules.

It's a good rule of thumb for all threads, though🙂

Here are the rules listed in FS/T.

<<will this be at the top, or do you just have to say bump and nothing else?>>

Any post will bump a thread to the top. The only thing that will not put a thread to the top is 1, no replies, and 2, editing an existing post.

FreeFrag it has been better said by Azraele what I meant my mods post. Also see my post in
~~~~ How Do I? ~~~~ on ways to bump a thread. The How Do I? thread is also another good place to ask questions.
I'm not familiar with the term "crack a narky", what does it mean?
Hehehe...sorry Yo_Ma-Ma, it's probably an Aussie saying (crack a narky). Understand "crack a sh1tty"? Basically if am narky at you, i am angry/annoyed/out to get you 😀
Does that mean, by me posting this new post, that in the Forum Issues Forum this thread will go to the top? If so, why post "bump"? Is that why i sometimes see ^ and *?
Yes, replying to this thread will shift the thread to the top....same as a bump or just posting a ^ or something. Most people have it set so that the most recently replied thread is at the top....see customize at the toolbar at the top.
<<If so, why post "bump"? >>
Because sometimes people don't necessarily have anything to say as far as a reply goes, rather, they are solely interested in getting that thread back to the top of the list for viewing. In that case, the will post "^," "ttt" (to the top), "bump," "up," and things of that nature.
