I didn't laugh at any of the commercials...it's not playing here or else I would have seen it...but so far from what I've heard it doesn't sound anything different than Jackass (which isn't funny).

Yes. And I'm a Republican.

Edit: It's actually a very well written and produced movie. It's definitely no Jackass.

Jackass is a bunch of morons you watch because you like morons getting hurt...
Borat is a professional political comedian and is very intelligent in his humor...

Hmmm...it's just that I'm seeing all this talk about "FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER!!!!" And I really don't even see how it could be in the top-10.

You either "get him" or you don't. How can you not laugh at the preview of him talking with the ugly feminist, and the narration comes in with him saying, "I could not concentrate on what the old man was saying..."?

LOL, there wasnt much intelligence in the humor in that movie.

I bet you thought Mr.Bean and The Pink Panther with Steve Martin were movies with intelligent humor.

Yes, there were funny moments. But everyone is making this movie out to be the best thing ever.

Well I guess I'll see the movie when it comes out on DVD. I'm always very skeptical of comedy movies because a lot of the "GREATEST ALL-TIME COMEDY MOVIES" aren't that funny. Take Wayne's World for example...people hail that as one of the greatest comedy movies ever...but watch WW with those exact same people and watch them laugh maybe 3-4 times in the entire movie.

I think he?s hilarious, you might not.

Funny or not, how is he like Jackass? That?s like saying Slayer is pretty much like Christina Aguilera because they both make music.

.....

Watched about half of that and didn't laugh once...his delivery is terrible, his voice is extremely annoying and cliche...his material is about the quality of a low-grade SNL filler skit.

Buy or rent Ali G the show. Sasha Cohen plays three characters in each show and Borat is one of them. I'm guessing the movie is just an extended version of the Borat segment of the Ali G show.

 Agreed. I don't see what's so funny about this guy acting like an a$$ during his interviews.

I never watched an entire Ali G show through to its end on the tube, just didn't think his shtick was that funny . . . then . . . a couple of years ago I was stuck in the wilds of New Jersey in a rented firehouse after a drunken day at the races.

It was a friend's bachelor party, and the strippers were three hours late, so we had little to do but eat and drink and drink and sneak down to the toilet with the window open to an alley for strategic ventilation and . . . then go back and drink some more.

But there WAS a TV and a dvd player and someone had a raft of burned Ali G shows and, DRUNK and with nowhere else to go, I watched and raucously laughed my freaking ass off.

That said, I'll wait for Borat to hit Netflix and watch it safely at home in the one mental condition I know will assist my appreciation of it.

I love the other two characters too, but I think Borat is the best one, in that he has a certainly likeability that makes it harder for people to yell at him or kick him out. I know there's talk of a Bruno movie, which could be great too, but I can't help but wonder whether I would tire of him over the length of a feature.
