I finally decided to get the new ? 56" DLP Sammy and now need to figure out who to buy it from. BBP has good prices but I don?t think that their repair plan will replace the bulb. That plus they are located on the left coast and that might present other problems.

My other recourses are some local large retailer like Circuit City, Best Buy or Sears. Do you think I should give BBP a try or stay local?

I guess this was not a good day to ask my questions. Most likely no one here (32 viewers so far) have any experience with BBP. :(

Their reviews overall have been pretty good.

Honestly though, they're only a few bucks off (and actually more expensive) from a truly class leading etailer/retailer like OneCall though. They're about $3690.70 shipped, right? OneCall is $3563.11 shipped after OnePass discount.

If you want, I can check for you to see if OneCall will lower the price even more.

I'm not too familiar with the repair plans because I tend to take care of my electronics. The bulbs in most DLP sets will last if you take care of them. Once you turn on the TV, don't turn it off within the next 20 minutes or so (so that the bulb reaches max operating temperature). Don't turn set on and off repeatedly.

That AVS forum sponsor is another great place to get it. Top notch company, and that price is extremely low for the HLP.

I'm tempted to look at that one, but will probably end up waiting for the Captain Kurk model, or seeing how the JVC D-ILA unit does. I currently have a D-ILA projector and it just rocks. :)
