Is being a model for a TV ad, the shortest career ever?

I am not talking about celebrities or their likes. I am talking about the models you see in the TV ads. You see them in one commercial, and never ever see them again. Is this the shortest career?
 
They may have all sorts of other things lined up. Their agent sends em out on any number of auditions/calls depending on their particular talents.

Also, there are local, regional, national, and international ads. Somebody could do a bunch of local/regional stuff.

They could be an actor as well or do voiceover work. Hand/foot models, corporate videos, video games, eye candy for events. There's all sorts of things they might be up to.
