Is Bamboo a tree or plant?

Bamboo is grass. And it grows ridiculously fast. So its not a big deal to chop some down and grow some more to replace it.

this. and not only is it a more viable alternative to wood harvested from trees, is simply better for certain uses, such as cutting boards and cooking-related accessories, as Bamboo sheds water. Helps keep down bacteria and better for storing knives that aren't made of SS.

That's because you can use it for flooring. It's actually a really nice alternative, very strong, nice pattern, and comes in a bunch of different colors.
