Is AT Going REALLY Slow For Anyone?

Page 2 - Seeking answers? Join the AnandTech community: where nearly half-a-million members share solutions and discuss the latest tech.
Yes, been slow for at least 3 days. Almost unusable. I use McAfee and Firefox. How about we adress the real issues of why the site is slowed down to a crawl all of a sudden.

Same problem here on my home computer.
- No changes to my system configuration from back when it was running fine
- Vista
- Windows Firewall disabled
- No antivirus software
- Firefox
- Time Warner DFW ISP.

If I click on the same link a few times, or refresh a page while it's loading a few times, eventually it'll connect as quick as it should. If I don't refresh / reclick the links and just let them load naturally, it feels like I'm back on an acoustic coupler rather than cable net.

However, things are snappy as can be from my work connection, so maybe there's an issue on the Time Warner network?

Could be. My work connection is fine as well, and I'm on TW at home.

Same deal w/ me.

I've managed to solve the completely no load problem by disabling the email protection in my AVG. However, as you have stated, the pages will sometimes hang and a few refreshes will make it load really fast as it should.

I am also on Time Warner in Austin

Same problem here, works great at work on a Grande Communications fiber link, but at home on a Time Warner cable connection I get horrible delays.

I had a page sitting loading overnight, no timeouts... just never a full page. Definitely think there is something wrong with the TW network.

It's been terrible for me. At home, at work, at my parents house in San Antonio (I'm in Austin). The page just sits trying to load dynamic2.anandtech.com. I do not run any antivirus or firewall software.

I'm about to given up on AT.

Just for grins, I used the PS3's browser to connect to AnandTech. No problems whatsoever. Wii browser didn't have any problems either. Weird.

Im in Austin and I have AVG and RR as my ISP, and my only internet issues are with the Anandtech Forums, I have not seen any reply in here from Anandtech whats up with that?

It seems to me they changed something on their end! Its killing all my forum fun!

Today is especially bad - sometimes 1-2 minute page loads - much slower than yesterday. No slow down with yahoo or google.

---

But then this post was instantaneous - go figure...

Alright, for those of you experiencing problems please PM me traceroutes to forums.anandtech.com and be sure to tell me YOUR IP as well so I can check the return paths. These problems will more than likely not be network related, but I want to rule that out. Thank you.

I'm in Austin too. TWC, no issues with my connection other than the anandtech sites. What gives? I'm surprised that we haven't heard anything from Jason.
