Is ASRock a sister concern of ASUS?

The A and S look very similar to the A and S of ASUS. So are they the same? They have some very good solutions for the Socket A board too and I'm wondering if I should try them out...

Anybody know any inside info?

Thanks

Raj

They are a low cost high production product from ASUS.
They did this to compete with the likes of ECS but without hurting their image/name.

Gigabyte is about to do the same also.

cool. I guess then ASRock will also be top notch

Someone else should expand on my answer, but from what I know is not to expect Asus quality from ASRock.
Budget brands rarely equal top-notch quality. I (personally) would hesitate to consider Asus top-notch, let alone their budget brand (ASRock).

Well, given ASUS recent quality problems (need I say K8V?), ASRock better not be too close to them ...

Seriously, ASRock is a spinoff company doing their own thing altogether, not just an alternate brand name for stuff coming from the same engineers and factory.

You've never owned a p2b (rock solid, best BX board EVER), a p4b533e (super stable and very awesome board), or a p4p800 (another quality board from asus). Top notch all the way!

I've never owned an Intel board, and have only had experience with VIA and Nvidia chipsets, so I wouldn't know.
