Is anything above TI750 overkill for cs:go?

What monitor do you have, it's resolution and refresh rate ? CS:GO is pretty easy to run, particularly if you play it to win and turn settings down to low to improve your game play.

I wanna run it at it's best visual quality while maintaining precise gameplay. I have an i7 and 8gbs of ram. Not sure about the monitor. card im running now is a 7570. Some maps are choppy when theres a lot going on

Before the users with more money than sense chime in with their "that's not enough you need 1080 SLIs minimum, a 144hz monitor and a nuke" posts, that should be more than enough for CSGO (with max settings) yet I'd wait it out until the 460 and 1050 are released - that way you get more for your money or at the very least you spend less on the 750ti.

Max details is a different story, you can go 750Ti for low details. For High and new maps like de_nuke I would not go lower than GTX780/GTX960/HD7970/280x/380x.

Actually on de_nuke I get over 80% GPU utilisation on 1920x1080 max details 4xMSAA on i5-4460 and R9 Fury.

So even with GTX970/R9 290 I could be GPU limited here.

80% GPU usage with msaa4x and 210FPS...

most people will be happy with 60FPS and can reduce msaa, also if you add lots of action on the screen it will probably be even more of a CPU limited scenario.

Yea I agree. Most people will be happy with 750Ti mixed details in sub HD resolution. But you can easily max out GTX960/280x usage in Full HD with i7 during a match.

That's why I asked about the monitor. If it's 60hz, all you need is 70fps at all times. Shouldn't take much for that. If you're talking a 120 or 144hz monitor, then you'll need something more.

This is CS:GO we are talking about. Most CS:GO users we see here find 200 FPS to be just barely playable, but he's also wanting to play at the highest settings, so I don't really know what to expect. What FPS are you looking for? Are you the typical 300+ FPS CS:GO player, or not?

I currently use a Radeon 7850 with low/medium settings on 1080 and 144 hz. I dip to the low 100's on Nuke. I specifically ordered a GTX 1070 to up the quality while maintaining the frames. It could be psychological, but I despise getting less than 200 fps in CS:GO

Looking on Newegg there is a $129 USD MSI 950 that comes with a $30 rebate card, easily a better deal than the $95 Zotac 750 Ti.

A: yes.
