I'm ridin' with the Big Dawg (SIRIUS) and I can't see myself going back to tired old FM any time soon!

Hell, I've almost quit listening to CD's too for that matter!
BTW, for you SIRIUS listeners check out Raw Dog Comedy - 147. I laugh my a$$ off to and from work at least 3 times a week on that station.

So how does Sirius work?

I know you have a reciever and you can bring that from teh car, to the office, to the house........

QUestion, how do you listen to it on your stereo in the car? Does it transmit thru an FM transmitter?

I had an iPod with the FM transmitter and it SUCKED. Sounded like a staticy record playing.

Although, I do have an AUX input on my stereo in my car......

I signed up for the free sirius online trial and the Java applet plays a 30 secdond promo for the channel, but that is it. Isn't there a way to listen to the actual station?

I like XM, but it's only somewhat better than regular radio. It still could use some more tweaking. Lots of repeats on many stations. They also seem to pick an artist they like and then put him/her on about half the stations. Right now it seems to be Casey Chambers.

My credit card expires in April, and in light of the increase, I'm letting my XM subscription die along with the credit card.

Yup. If you have DirecTV, Sirius plays all their channels up in the 6000-range too. :D

Sirius is awesome, unless you have to deal with customer service. You'll wait on hold for an hour and probably get disconnected after that. :(

But, it's only once a year that I have to do that when I renew for the following year.

I have had Sirius for about 1.5 years now; don't know why I didn't do it sooner.

I can name ONE FM radio station in my local area and I've been here about a year. :p

I have XM, and I think it is OK. Most of the AT people will probably like Sirius, because Sirius is still focused on music.

For the past six months, XM seems to be more interested in sports and traffic than music. Then have moved some of the music stations around alot, and have cut music stations in favor of dozens of sports and traffic stations.

I have XM, and I am unhappy with the fact that, as krcat1 said, they're so focused on sports. For example, just recently they added many new baseball stations. The more stations they add, the lower the quality of every other station. (Since the bandwidth remains constant.) I'd rather have more music on the existing channels. However, XM is much better than FM/AM anyway. Having taken a cross-Texas trip recently, XM has been on continuously without any outage.

I agree. I am thinking about canceling it for that reason as well as the price increase.
