Is anyone running 50% overclocks anymore?

Back in the day of the Celeron 300A, Celeron 366, and the prized and rare P2 300 that made it to 504MHz, 50% overclocks were very common. Now it seems that people are hitting only a 33% overclock on average now. So, who here runs there CPU at or past 50% of the rated clock speed?

At the moment, my P3 500E FCPGA is running at 166mhz FSB in a CUSL2-C for a speed of ~833mhz. It is running at default voltage. (1.6v) After a few days of Prime95, the CPU temp peaks at ~42C. It's a nice chip - 66% overclock. I wish I could take the FSB higher with the CUSL2-C without decreasing the memory speed. IIRC, I have had it up to ~175 FSB with 1.65v, but something else didn't like it. It runs faster at 166/166 anyway. 🙂

46.7 percent overclock right here. My highest overclock so far was at 864, but it's not quite stable. Not without a major voltage increase and scary temps.

My brother has my old 550e at 825 MHz / 150 fsb at 1.75V and i have a 650e which can run at 975 MHZ / 150 fsb, but my memory is pc 133 cas 3 (according to specs and scisoft sandra, although it does cas 2 at 140 fsb) and i realised that the memory bandwidth is then lower than at fsb 140 and cas 2 so untill i can get some cas 2 memory i am back at 910.

Retail Celeron II 600 @ 900/1.7 volts. It does 1008 @ 1.75 volts - I can loop 3DMark2000 a few times, but the heat is too much in my little Inwin case. I want to keep this CPU for a while. That's 50% everyday and 68% for benchmarking (hehehehehe).

well look at it this way. On celeron 300 50% is 150 mhz. on a p3 650 50% is 325 MHz. I think that just the difference in base clock speed is what limits the o/c. Old 286's culd do 100% o/c with good cooling.

Soon to be a 600 duron at a 1000 once I get my PAL.
Had a celeron 566 @ 850 would post at 977 and would be stable at 935 except for UT.

I've got my CeleronII 533A @ 896.
A 68% overclock. Very pleasing.

My 83.833% is good for me 🙂 (600@1103) But i usually run it at 1051 which is faster due to FSB stuff. Thats 75.166%. 😀

retail Duron 600 @ 1008 MHz at 1.85 volts
67% overclock, runs stably at 1030 MHz in Windows but not in 3D-stuff

My P3 550 is running @ 825 Mhz - 50% increase
P3 700E @ 1050 Mhz - 50% increase
Celery 566 @ 875 Mhz - 54.6% increase
Duron 600 @ 975 Mhz - 62.5% Increase

So, your answer is YES ...

eRr 🙂
