I know you are referring to the movie, but I am bothered by the reference to "Poop" Harbour, especially on this Memorial Day weekend.
A lot of people died in the servie of their country at Pearl Harbour. I have that name associated with their sacrifice.

It bothers you that somebody calls it poop harbour, but it does not matter that some studio is going to try to make a quick buck off of the attack by making some lame Pearl Harbour movie with a wonderful love story so that the Japanese will watch it too??? Wake up, smell the coffee.

The fact that the film makers will be making a ton a dough off that event is like the main reason I called it that! Jeez, you guys are a tuff crowd. I'm not trying to make enimies, just post trivial stuff on here.

Come on guy, that won't bother me in the least. Now if it were about the Fire Bombing of Tokyo and was called "Fried Rice" you can bet I'd be bothered.
What would be even more upsetting would be if they shot the fire bombing sequence to "Disco Inferno". You know, "...burn baby burn, disco inferno, burn baby burn...". Actually, come to think of it, that just could work...

well, if the proceeds went to the veterans, i'd probably go, but since al the money will go straight to Bay/Bruckheimer pockets, the answer is no.

When I read the title to this thread I knew he was referring to the movie Pearl Harbor - but I interpreted his play on words in reference to the movie itself being crappy, probably because of reviews he heard about it - I didn't get any disrespect about the event itself from it; merely the movie.

You might think it is funny play on words, but I for one have had my fill of punk ass kids haveing some smart ass thing to say about Pearl Harbor. Learn to have some respect, and you might find that you get respect in return.

I do always love it when people forget what goes into making a movie and the fact that it IS ultimately a business. The movie costs $130 MILLION. This movie was different. A lot of people didn't get paid for making this movie, Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckwhatever included. They are on defered payment. So the movie has to make MORE than $130 million before they see a dime. The movie will probably make that in the next two weeks, but it has to make a lot more than that for everyone to see a nice return. It's not a quick buck. It's taken them at least six months or so of work. Probably 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and costing a lot of money upfront.
