The trailer doesn't resemble anything like the show as I remember it (more camp, bright colors, sexy women, etc). The trailer looks dark and dreary. It sounds like they just took the name from the show and characters and made a movie based on the typical Michael Mann style.

I loved the TV show and have the 1st and 2nd seasons DVD sets. I'm not really sure what to think about the movie from the short trailers I've seen.

I was not into the tv show and felt it was a Bad Boys rip-off in plot (movie-wise)... but then I found out Michael Bay directs it... I'll see his movies any day - very entertaining.

To follow up on Reds point: Remakes are never as good as orginals and the original sucked hard.

Do men really make it habit of wearing pastels in Maimi?

I think the subject matter (Cocaine) and the contemporary music is what made Miami Vice popular back in the 80's. Having Frank Zappa and other popular musicians guest stars didn't hurt either.

I'm looking forward to it just for the comedic value. Colin Farrell is so bad it's painful yet funny at the same time.

Theme song ditched for Miami Vice.

Watching the trailer, the movie doesn't have a hint of the feel of the original Miami Vice. All they have in common is that they both involve 2 police officers in Miami... That's about it. The movie is going to be a dud. Those who didn't like Miami Vice won't go, and those who liked it will be sorely dissapointed.
