Title pretty much says it all, Is anyone here using Safari on a Windows PC?
Does it work well? If not I suppose I will have to do some research because I hate using Explorer on my Windows laptop which I hate, I will get a Mac laptop one of these days. thanks

On Windows, use either Chrome or Firefox. Safari on Windows is probably one of the worst browsers you can ever think of. Honestly.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHA

Oh wait, you're serious.

I really like IE9, much better than earlier offerings, but since I also love to play Flash games, I keep Chrome on my system since for some reason IE tends to trap key inputs in Flash games, which means my little platforming guy keeps walking left into the spikes.

But yea, Chrome and Firefox on Windows if you don't like IE. I use Safari just to download Flash based videos. You can install the ClickToFlash Safari Extension that will let you choose between Flash and MP4 playback, but if you right click on the MP4 options you can then save the video to your hard drive.

I tried it a while back, but Safari on Windows sucked. Ditched it and never looked back, despite the fact that I use Safari as my main browser on the Mac.

I use Firefox as my primary browser on Windows, with IE as a backup. For my backup on the Mac, I use Firefox.

I use FF on Windows. I installed Safari to gain access to reading my Kindle books in a browser app. Once FF became supported for the kindle web app, I haven't touched Safari. I run Chrome on my Mac but on windows I use FF.

Safari exists on my win7x64 home PC just for reference/compatibility/a change. I don't do any real browsing with it. Chrome or FF.

Thanks guys, looks like I have several options. How do Chrome and Firefox differ? The simpler the better. It seems like some of you do not care for Safari, all I know is I love Safari compared to the IE on my Windows laptop.

I like Chrome the best.

I use Firefox for the Video DownloadHelper plugin - it's useful to extract video from sites like Youtube and Vimeo for free.

Safari on Windows has been a pitiful experience for me so far. Small buttons and slow performance. I have been really happy with Chrome.

For Vimeo, you just need to log in with a free account and there is usually a download link on the side pointing you to an mp4 file.

Its all personal preference.
99.99% of the population won't notice the differences in terms of performance.
Use what you like and don' think twice.

I find Safari is actually not that bad on my Windows machines. The biggest thing is that Chrome is just so much better. It never freezes, ever. I use to be a big advocate for IE before IE9 came out. That freakin thing is a nightmare, it freezes on a 1/3 of my sites. No, I don't visit sites ful of jiz juice either....

Very well said. This should be applied to about 99% of the questions on here:thumbsup:

Silverlight works much better in Safari on my Mac than Chrome.

I use Chrome for everything except Netflix.

Chrome has very little support for certain built in gestures, same beef that I have with Firefox. In Safari, if i doubletap with 2 fingers it zooms the stuff to fill the window (a la the iPhone), this does not work in chrome and pinch-zoom is wonky there to boot.

Also, the fact that I am limited to just 8 sites in the 'top sites' list is annoying in chrome as well. I like opera's implementation where you just keep adding sites to it, so you can have, for example, 11 sites. Safari goes 6, 12, 24. Chrome is just 8 and I don't know what Firefox gives you.
