How can a jump ball be called when the person in question who has supposedly tied up the ball carrier enough is standing out of bounds?

You're quite a prize. Like someone said above Nash = MVP, he outplayed Kobe in every game but this one (Nash 3, Kobe 1). Cry some more that Nash is the MVP and the how great the Lakers are because they get the call at home. Every game could have went either way.

Your arguement is so amusing.Who cares if Nash outplayed Kobe in every game. The Lakers are still up 3-1.Kobe's individual play during the regular season far surpasses anything Nash did.(Um nothing besides averaging around the same stats as last year).Dont use officiating or the fact that we got "lucky"to use it against Kobe.
Best passer + best shooter + over 50 wins + better than last year > best scorer/chucker. Try again.

Best Scorer/"chucker"+45win/7th seed team+81pts>Best passer

Steve Nash is not the best shooter.

alright, so who is the best shooter?

Ray Allen
Do you even look at stats before you post? Ray Allen doesn't beat Nash in anything related to shooting.

BTW Mike Jones on Toronto has better FG and 3pt% than Ray Allen. LOL. Check the stats, there may be someone better than Nash in one category (for example, 3pt%) but Nash whoops them in the other two. It's no contest.

Wow, this Kobe for MVP line is ridiculous. Not only is he NOT the MVP, he isn't even second.

And I hope the Lakers win tonight. I've found NBA basketball incredibly boring since I grew up, but seeing the Clippers beat the Lakers will be one of the most comical events in sports for years.

Wow your completly ignorant if you think Kobe is not at least a MVP canidate in the top 2.

...And you wont see the Clippers beat the Lakers.

Standard bullshit from a Cali resident that lacks the mental capacity to think objectively.

Dirk and LBJ are most certainly above Kobe as well in regards to the MVP. Possibly Chauncey, too, but at least I could see an argument for that fourth spot (although I'd give it to Chauncey if I had to choose).

Its not even about thinking...it just is.Kobe stats speak for him.I've obviously given consideration to many other players who also derserve MVP...but none as much as Kobe.No need to put me down.

When Jordan averaged 35 he shot 54% from the field...in other words, a lot better than Kobe. Jordan also had 6 rebounds and 6 assists per game. Kobe's stats aren't as amazing as you think they are.

rofl, will you guys just STFU? esp. playmaker and sp33demon. i'm reading through your posts, and they don't make any sense. hatred, before logic is coming first from all yourguys posts.

ah well.

and that foul line thing pic isn't even the time when luke walton lunged for the jump ball. that was a moment before the jump ball occured. 😕

Exactly. It shouldn't have been a jump ball, it should have been a side-out call to the Suns. You can't tie somebody up for a jump ball without being in bounds.

Another Cali fanboy? I don't even need to check.

It's not a matter of "hate" or being a "hater" or whatever your lingo is. Kobe is a great player, and I give him his due, but he simply isn't in the same league as Nash, LBJ, Dirk, Chauncey, etc. when it comes to the MVP award.

The unflappable loyalty you have for your favorite player/team is admirable, but THAT'S an example of not using logic.

My comments may have disagreed with your views, but if you haven't been able to make sense of them, well, I pity you.

haha........hahah.........haha.

Kobe has had his breakout year without a doubt. He is truly evolving into a team player and there is no question that everybody on the Laker team has become significantly improved. The MVP award this year should come down to two players, Kobe and Nash. I'm fine if either of them get it, because they both deserve it. To say Kobe Bryant isn't in the same league as LBL or Dirk is laughable, and downright insane. Kobe has turned this group of Laker scrubs into a real playoff contender that is about to knock off the Suns and advance to the second round of playoffs. Well with great talent comes great jealousy, and it's quite clear the Kobe haters are still abundant. You can't deny the man's talent, he is without question the BEST player in the NBA. Nobody even comes close at this point.

So just because Nash "shoots less", all of a sudden that's why he has a 7% better FG%. Give it a rest already, you know NOTHING about basketball as evidenced by every comment you've made in this and other threads. The only reason why you're in this thread is because you got Kobe's autograph and now worship him (and are a self admitted fanboy). Nash is the best shooter in the league statistically, whining that he takes less shots is the weakest thing I've seen since LA's effort last night. I bet you even think Ray Allen would have a higher FG% than a big guy like YAO (which Nash almost shot as high as) if he "shot less". :disgust:

Everyone in this thread agrees that Nash is the best shooter, the GM's gave him the most votes for MVP (look at what they thought of Kobe lol), the voters gave Nash more votes than anyone. Get over it and give Nash credit where credit is due, or stay a hater for the rest of your life.

And IF Kobe "played the same basic way" in the playoffs then why is he averaging less than 20 points per game? Um, that's around 15 off his average. No way in hell is he playing the same way, he's chucking way less and passing way more. It's blatantly obvious that HE made the decision to change his game, b/c Phil has always wanted him to pass more but Kobe didn't give a dam (hence while Phil wrote the book blasting him as "uncoachable".) While Phil can only lay out a gameplan, it's up to Kobe to listen and execute and he's finally doing that.

I stand by my opinion that IF Kobe did less chucking and averaged 20ppg, but distributed the ball like he is now, LA would easily be a 50 win team. And then, and only then, would he be the MVP.

I said kobe plays the same way in the playoffs each year, not the same way that he plays in the reg season. A lot of players do this, including iverson.

If kobe did less chucking and more passing in the regular season, I don't think they would have made the playoffs. It took a while before the team started playing well.

As for steve nash, shooting percentage along does not make one the best shooter in the league. Nash is definitely one of the best, and possibly the best transition shooter. Anyway he's a great scorer either way. I think he's at his best in transition or when driving to the basket.

Read every single one of my posts in this thread, and tell me where I'm "hating". Calling someone a fanboy is not hating if they are self admitted, get over yourself.

BTW, please show us this "foul line" pic that you speak of, lol. Oh, unless you're talking about Walton's foot being OOB (um, that has nothing to do with the foul line)? Last I checked, a player that's OOB is not a legal player and cannot participate in anything involving the basketball. But maybe you know more than us?

Keep telling us about foul lines, players being allowed to participate in the field of play while out of bounds, and I'll keep backing my arguments with facts.

Ray Allen in his prime was definitely better than nash now, percentage or no. Right now it's debatable. I'd rather have allen take a 3 pointer at the end of the game than nash, but not sure about a 2 pointer.

Well Nash is in his prime now (arguably), so, yeah. Numbers don't lie, they didn't for Allen then and they don't for Nash now.

Well, Kobe had a close to his regular season averages last night and they were blown out. When he was passing more in the earlier games and not turning over the ball so much (5 last night, PHO only had 8 total) they won, simple as that.

Shooting Percentages (2, 3pt, FT) may not tell the whole story but they tell 90%.
