The Discovery Channel along with its sister channels has gone down the tube. Discovery HD Theater, used to be my favorite channel, now it's rerun after rerun, and some stupid auto auction on every weekend. Another shamwow commercial...bloody hell.

I enjoyed the first year of ice road truckers. nwo its so fricken annoying. they will say something bad is going ot happen then in 3 episodes latter its someone got a damn flat tire. i have only seen 3-4 episodes of deadly catch and its the same. way to much faked forced drama.

I am tired of Ice Road Truckers going on and on about how dangerous the ice is. I know I am not the smartest guy in the world but I got it after the 5,747,676,038,590,567,490,347,394,058,596,095,745,868,346,235 time they mentioned it.

I remember this very same topic (deadliest catch) being posted a few months ago. My comment in that thread is the same as this one.

One more motherfucking graphic of the truck driving along the ice and creating waves under the ice, and I will off myself.

I like Dirty Jobs and Man Vs. Wild better....

Shark week is coming up soon.

I agree....Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers are on way too much.
Ahhh, shark week. I just love the dichotomy.

Nature guy: "Sharks actually kill very few people, and thus aren't something you should be worried about."

Ratings guy: "FEAR SHARKS! Shark week! Fear them! Fear sells!"

Yes, I am sick of Deadliest Catch. But I'm also sick of the dumbing down of so many other shows that are on Discovery. I'm sick of the false drama. When We Left Earth - very good footage, but very annoying with the constant "tension" and "drama" that the show's directors/producers tried to put in. Too many of those, "Would this be the end of the space program? Dun dun duuuunnnnnn...." Then come back from commercial, "No, it wasn't the end of the space program. What a twist!"
</rant>

Discovery Channel ended it for me a few years ago during their now-crappy shark week. The 1-hour special involving the actual recorded shark bite was the theme show all week. They spent who-knows how much money to reconstruct a robotic shark to swim in a pool, and mimic the attack on the guy. He claimed that it was "OMG the same type of attack! Now we know exactly why the shark behaved like it did!"

erm...wat???

Discovery Channel abandoned science at that point. (maybe earlier)

That's almost 6 quattuordecillion times.... Assuming that the amount of time it takes to say "The ice is dangerous" is two seconds, that means that they 'ave spent 12 quattuordecillion seconds of air time saying that the ice is dangerous. Now, the show 'as 17 episodes so far. Each episode 'as about 45 minutes of actual content. 45 minutes = 2700 seconds. 2,700 seconds x 17 episodes = 45,900 seconds of total air time of the show "Ice Road Truckers. That is much less than the 12 quattuordecillion seconds required....As you can see, there is no way the cast of the show 'ave mentioned that the ice is dangerous that many times. BTW, I made some assumptions that should not invalidate my calculations...

You sir are one boaring dude.

He's out of character, too. what's with all the "h's?"

pathetic, man. really.

YES! I am so tired of seeing crap shows on TV! Even Futurama on Comedy Central just plays the same shows over and over and over.

Junkyard wars totally needs to come back.
