name your pets after something tech related? A computer co, programming language, CPU arcitechture, etc.

My cat is named Perl. Not Pearl, but Perl. She's also attacknig the cursor on the screen as I type this.

Has anyone else done this?

I think that kicks arse having a pet named perl :). My next cat will be called "derefenced pointer" :p

I named the computer of my LAN after Ultima VII characters, is that geeky enough?

I've done worse... I have two cats named after Star Trek characters.... :eek: But I also have two ferrets with names cool enough to even things out: Minerva and Nirvana.

My dog is "Piper"

My gecko is named Kubrick, my skink is named Niven, and my ball python is named Martha Stewart.

I just took in a parakeet. I haven't decided on a name for him yet. I need something computer related but not too abnormal. I was thinking about Cat5e, but that just won't cut it.

My cat is just named Cat. I guess I'm not very creative, but it does roll off the tongue easy enough :p

I had a cat that was named "Kitty" along with another cat named "kissa" which is finnish for cat. Of course we had an adorable dog named Koida too. It is of course finnish for dog.

Now have 2 dogs ( german shepard and lab, and german sheppard and rot ) named Tasha and Tigger. Tasha is as close as I get to geeky. Is it bad to have a dog naimed after a dead ST:TNG charctor?

<edit>
Oh, and a ferret named Elmo. Don't ask.

good one Sluggo, :)

I once seriously considered naming my daughter Meryl after Metal Gear Solid (note: I don't have a daughter nor I am married)
