Is anyone actually excited that Hilary will be next president?

Given her age Kaine might have a good chance of finishing the first term.
Sorry, I'm biased towards seeing younger Presidents. Was one of Obama's strengths.

Yeah without Congress she can't just do whatever she wants, but with the Senate majority in hand she'll be able to force more liberal stuff into law and of course immediately reshape SCOTUS for a generation upon taking office, which'll help undo a lot of Scalia's damage in a much more permanent way.

So "excited"? If it'll help put fringe wingnuts out to pasture more quickly, and thereby improve American's lives, you bet.

Yeah, while the Dems have a good shot at the Senate, I doubt they're about to flip the House. They can still make things extremely difficult for her like they do/did with Obama.

Sure, why not. Why do presidents have to be exciting? We've had steady and decent policy progress over the last 8 years and continuing that is good.

Why would an exciting presidency be preferable?

I'd like to see her elected and a lot of the GOP trash that has been living in Congress cleaned out of there.

She is a Warhawk, but only in the way Golda Meir was. She won't be pushed around.

Someone needs to continue fixing things, it sure would not be Trump.

On a side note, it is Hillary to begin with.

She will not be crazy orange so I'm happy about that.

Other that that, we're doing a lot better under Obama than we were under Bush so more of the same is acceptable.

My thoughts exactly. I really liked Obama's oratory skills, but aside from that he was your typical center left democrat, perhaps even a slightly handicapped one initially due to his political naïveté. I think Hillary could be better, albeit a bit less exciting.

Hate to say it but I would rather have four more years of Obama then 4 years of Hillary or the Donald.

I am interested to see this going forward. I wonder how many people who said Obama was satan Hitler the worst ever will wax nostalgic about him.

No matter what the crazies say he was a moderate president who was exceptionally even keeled and made it thorough eight years with no meaningful scandals. He was basically the definition of a good president.

I wouldn't say I'm excited about Clinton but I am fine with it. Things have been going pretty well overall IMO.

I think she'll do a good job, at least as well as one might expect with a Repub HOR.

I mean, at least she's not a black Kenyan usurper, right?

She'll advance the Democratic agenda a bit more forcefully than Obama, I think, which is what needs to be done because Repubs have no constructive alternatives.

She may have the opportunity to nominate 3 SCOTUS justices, also a good thing. The luck of the draw gave Repubs 12 of the last 16 nominations but their hot streak ends with Obama.

She may be more hawkish & more pro-Israeli than I'd like but it's unseemly for the Party who brought us the invasions of Afghanistan & Iraq to make any noise about that. They'd do it all over again given the chance.

Not to mention that the lulz from the right wing punditocracy will never end.

No I am not excited, yes I think she will win. I think both candidates are pathetic excuses honestly. Hillary is a proven liar and hypocrite. Puts American lives at risk, and I think she costed some too. One who thinks she is above the law, and actually has been so far. I don't trust her at all, and do not want her for President. Yet the people have spoken and she is the Dems candidate. How anyone can be "excited" about either being President is beyond me.

it will be interesting to see how people react to a woman as president. I'm sure there will be the usual bullshit, just hope we can start working together again, compromise, each side gives up something to ensure everyone benefits, but what the hell do I know.

I don't give two fucks about it being a woman. I care about her character and the kind of person she is. To me based on what she has done in the past, it's shitty. I personally think a woman can be just as good as a President as a man. We'd be more affected by those countries that do not give woman any, or many rights. Dealing with them may be more difficult, but fuck them if they can't get over it.
