Is Anybody else's Internet Running Real Slow?

Mine is crawling on cable modem. The latency is so freaking high. I normally connect to 4.2.2.1 with about 10ms or lesser, now I am in the 1000ms area?

I am in Los Angeles, and backbone to Earthlink. I tried from my dad's place its better (he has DSL Via Earthlink and I have Cable via Charter/Earthlink).

Anybody else having pages load, then not load and then maybe load?

seems good here - im getting ping times of 10-20 ms to that host - dsl with a small isp who uses alter.net as their backbone

I'm getting 45ms average to that host, and I'm all the way in canada.

My Earthlink DSL line is slow also. My aunt is complaining that her mindsprint/earthlink dsl is slow. The pac bell T1 seems slow at work too.

It may be an LA area thing. I thought it was from code red, but maybe some backbone is taking a big dump.
