Is anybody else bugged by this with the Antec case?

Hi,

I went to take the screws out that hold on the side panel and all the paint is wiped off from someone tightening the screws. Is anyone else bugged by this? I was told that it was necessary to keep the side panel from coming off during shipping, but I think that Antec could do something else instead of doing this.

I guess I have to pull out the touch up paint, but I shouldn't need to.

Ahh, but since ANtecs use the latch mechanism, screws are redundant and axtraneous. I dont know of many people who use scrws in their Antec cases since the latch is all that is needed and makes removing the side panel a lot easier.

Does that thumbprint on the right-lower side of your case bother you too? :) Get some flat-backed screws if you want to avoid the damage. I know the Enermax versions of the Antec SX1030 that I get from newegg have nice thumbscrews ;)

yeah, i noticed that too.. there's a ring around the screwhole. but it doesn't really bother me because i've never looked at the back of my case until this thread. :p if it bugs you, just put the screw back on.

Yeah, i'm actually a PRO SCREW person, since when i get really pissed at my computer, i like to throw it down the stairs. The latch cover just doesn't seem to cut it when it goes careening down a couple of flights.

The only thing that bugs me about my SX1040 is the fact that I need to remove the first 3.5" drive cage in order to reach the inner bezel clip that holds the front bezel on. In order to do that, i need to remove all my IDE cables to remove the cage, or they'll bunch up against my RAM, risking cracking it or the mobo. what a pain. I'm thinking about just breaking that clip off.

haha, how funny, i just got to deal with this last night when i wanted to install my spiffy new blue led i got from eled.com. what a hassle! sadly now the top left corner of the bezel doesn't fit as tightly now - must pulled something out of alignment when i was wrestling with the bloody thing. :( now i have to take it off again to figure out how to fix it!

salvador, sorry, the paint scratches on the back don't really bother me - every case i've ever had has these. since i don't look at the back that often - who cares? i did scratch the top tho & would love to touch it up - where can i get touch-up paint that exactly matches "antec grey"?

one more thing - my personal major pet peeve is that my lower hd cage is slightly loose, even when the latch is closed. the upper cage is rock solid. can't figure out how to fix this. it's a small thing, but since this is one of the features i bought the case for i'm bummed that it's less than perfect.

exactly.. unless you're some sort of freak, you have the front of the case facing you, and the back of the case, facing away... duh!

Yes.. I'm a freak. That's why I don't buy American cars or any car that is made in the US. The fit and finish is just too lousy.

BTW.. Another one of my peeves is trying to figure out why the pc manufacturer's can't come up with one standard black. Come on.. I have 3 different things that are black (floppy, Digital Doc 5 bezel and case) and none of them match each other. I should just go back to boring beige until someone can figure this out.

Now that you mention it, have you noticed that beige does not always match. The Antec case has a little more yellow in it than many drives. Lets demand that all beige match. Up in arms against Antec.

Get serious, Antec makes a great mid-priced case with very good power supplies. COmpalin if you have a problem don't wine.
