If you abuse Amazon.com's return system, then yes, you have something to fear. If you've only returned a few times, I don't see why they would dump your account. What are you returning anyway?

They'd probably credit your CC account for the life of your prime.

They don't cancel accounts for one return.

I've returned I think 2 items in a year or two? So this would make #3. I think I recall seeing people have their accounts cancelled for nearly the same though. Regarding prime though, they don't refund it afaik and from anecdotal reports of those who have had it happen to them,

I'm returning headphones, DT770 250ohm. They sound NOTHING like the DT770 80's I had in the past, very disappointed.

From a quick search the two aren't supposed to be much different.

Are you using an amp?

Yea, cmoy and mini3. Sold my tube amps, which would def. warm it up a bit, but the bass is so non-existent its kinda shocking.

There are quite a few DT770's now, kinda gets confusing....

DT770 Pro 80ohm (Bass Monsters)
DT770 Pro 250ohm
DT770 Consumer Edition 2005 250ohm (the ones I just bought)
DT770M (inline mic)

The difference is much more than I expected. It may be a great headphone for some, but the SS just doesn't jive with me, way too bright for my tastes. I've heard some amps make a big difference, but these are so off from my taste, I don't think any bit of amplification (short of a Darkvoice) would turn these around for me. Granted, they aren't properly burned in yet, but I ran them with Pink Noise for 14 hours last night, slight change but not much.

Then again, maybe a perfect time to start building a Starving Student Hybrid.

I've seen people on Head-Fi say the consumer DT770 sounds quite a bit different from the Pro model. I think that's why some people don't believe the 770s are bass monsters because they aren't listening to the same one. Of course before the consumer one cost about $100 more so I don't think a lot of people bought it, especially since that was close to DT880/DT990 pricing.

As for Amazon, I wouldn't worry myself. If they did decide to I'd be glad as it'd give me reason to stop shopping there. I'm not sure I believe all the people who claimed their accounts were closed over hardly anything.

Guess I'm glad I didn't order a pair then, I wasn't aware of the multiple versions.

Besides I have a two week old pair of AKG K701's, I don't need more full sized cans right now.
