Is Amazon Seller Dodgy or UPS Swamped?

So I bought a new power supply from an Amazon seller last Sunday. The item was "shipped" last Tuesday, but on UPS tracking the item still hasn't changed from 'Label Created" since last Tuesday. I contacted the seller today and they told me delays of 1-3 business days regarding tracking information because of Covid.

I'm highly skeptical of that response. I understand black Friday was a couple days before, but what they are telling me is that UPS has backlog of an entire week where the item cant even reach their facility?

I'm in Toronto for reference and the item apparently is coming from Canada. Anyone have a similar situation where the status hasn't changed from label created for a whole week and counting? Did the seller just create a label with nothing in stock?

According to Amazon the last day for arrival should be tomorrow. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Thanks.

Update: Item is now in transit and has a date for delivery this week. Coincidence? Well at least I know my package exists.

Dec 9 Update: I got my power supply today!

Probably shipped from Ebay to the seller. Seller then ships to you. That's how a lot of Amazon orders work, most sellers don't keep stock. Though I have seen it where the tracking never moves at all then item suddenly shows up.

I'm in a similar situation with a ninja foodie I ordered from Costco. UPS has been saying on its way since 12/1 and to check back later. Last known location was in Stockton, 1.5 hrs away from me so...

Oddly enough, I had some packages from Amazon delivered late last night. Almost 9pm actually, which never happens. I think they're just totally swamped.

Did anyone notice that shortly after the Orange Don put numbskull in place as the head of the USPS they no longer give freely segmented delivery tracking updates? You now have to pay for that bit of information. I see USPS ticket printed at the seller location and then a billion years later at my door.

Holiday season is brutal. Walmart's In-store pickup was so full that it took forever to process the order in years past with no pandemic.

Holy shit! Maybe items should self-destruct when that happens?
You missed this in First World Problem... It was a jolly good show. It's a meat grinder, it survived. Was finally delivered on Oct 22.

Start of the saga I think

Somewhat related: In the last few months I've had 2 missed handoffs between UPS and USPS. The items just disappeared. Things can be really screwy right now.

I've been seeing this from a few places I've ordered from recently. I think some of it is lack of pickup due to capacity issues, because it's been from big sellers like overstock and Costco. I did read recently that UPS wholesale decided to stop picking up from several major vendors, Newegg is one of them.

Meat grinder, eh?

Oh, that's a funny way to describe that wood chipper you need to dispose of the bodies in your rural backyard.

(just a joke).

On a related note, I ordered blinds from blinds.com

That thing said it'd like weeks to custom order and ship. The thing freaking' shipped from Hanoi Vietnam, went to Incheon, Korea, then landed in Tennessee then NJ in less than 48 hours.

It just so happens they had what you ordered in stock there without having to make them.
