Is AIM trying to become Yahoo Messenger?

The new version has these stupid "Expressions" thing that look much like a skin for the IM software a la yahoo

It also now tells you when the other person is typing... a la yahoo

What they REALLY need is customized (or uploadable) smilies

MSN has has always let you know when the other person is typing... I used Everybuddy anyways I turn off the stupid smiley support, I like the classic emoticons (8(|)<></////>

i stick with older versions that MyIM is compatible with. And I don't like Trillian.

Never used Yahoo, but I used Trillian.. until it messed up with all my downloads/uploads so I switched back to AIM..

I use AIM 4.xx so I can use AIM+.
