Is "AIM" still the network of choice?

I've noticed there isn't much demand for LIVE or ICQ or Jabber in the US.
Seems more people continue to use AIM. Is this in fact true? I know most of my pals from High School started with AIM, and still use it as their IM of choice.

AIM is king in the US. MSN is used a lot in europe i think.

MSN is big in the Pacific Rim (Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, HK). QQ is the messenger of choice in China.

I've not cared about network since ~2002. I have all my accounts for all the major networks running on Pidgin (formerly GAIM). Many, if not most, of my friends have multiple network accounts themselves.

I've noticed that most people in California use AIM. On the other hand, when I have to deal with people outside of the US,
they often use a different messenger. With people in the US outside of Cali, I'd say it varies

In Vietnam, Yahoo is the messenger of choice. I use AIM primarily and MSN with just a couple of friends.

MSN primarily. I use AIM as well (few old timer contacts). I just group them all with Pidgin (GAIM).

Most of my high school was Yahoo, but I use Trillian for it and AIM.

here it is unfortuantly ICQ. although i just use trillian and have accounts for almost everything.

i started off using MSN...then started using it along with Yahoo messenger. i liked yahoo so i used that mostly. then most of my friends used AIM so now i use Yahoo and AIM. i'm signed into Yahoo a lot more though. i live in Cali if it matters.

I don't have any contacts on MSN/Yahoo. They're all AIM. And a few who have doubled up with google talk. Actually, 3 of my coworkers use msn too, but they have aim as well.

I use Trillian so its all the same to me...but 1 out of maybe 250 of my contacts are anything but AIM.
