is AGP video a dead technology?

the new Asrock supports AGP, PCI-E, 939 pin cpus along with the upcoming cpus from AMD.

its only $68 or so dollars also.

AGP is dead. But it will be some time before you can't purchase mainboards with AGP slots or AGP graphics cards.

Do yourself a favor and go PCI-E like the rest of the world 😀

AGP(dead) VS PCIE
ATI (dead)VS PCIE

So once in a fairly town of technology there was a ATI x850xtpe and a 7800gtxko.The 850 really wanted to fight with the ko.So a day later the ko was walking in a dark alley and the 850 was waiting around the corner. When the ko got close enough the 850 jump out and start to beat up the ko. The 850 didnt relize it that the ko was such a badazz. The 850 was in so much pain that it nearly die and even saw the white neon light .

Dunno dont ask question why I did this ? I dont know either? ATI and AGP are near their death even with their r520 GPU

Well, lets put it this way, if you're in the market for a new computer, AGP would not be your best choice.

Did Ati drop you on your head when you were a baby?

buying a PCIe motherboard right now is wasting money; wait until a good crop of BTX motherboards and cases are in retail, then do the switch

your agp card will do fine until then

Isn't BTX a intel designed spec? So we wont be seeing it on AMD motherboards right?

This is what happens to you when you become a fanboi. It's not pretty sight.
He thinks that since the company he likes has the fastest card, that somehow makes all their cards faster.

The answer to the question is no, AGP is not dead yet. Right now the fastest card you can get is an iNvida 7800GTX, and it's PCI-E only. If you don't need that level of performance, there are pleanty of AGP cards that work very well and are reasonably priced. I would guess, and it's just a guess, that AGP cards will be around for a long time since there are so many AGP motherboards around. I could be wrong, I was once before.
