their phone number similar and address is similar, is adidas affiliated with nike or something, I always thought they were totally separate companies

No, but Sprite is under Coca Cola.

I always found that interesting because I thought Sprite was a totally separate company that were battling along with Coca Cola and Pepsi

I'm pretty sure they are two completely different companies, but after checking their websites, things are a bit too similar:

adidas America
P.O. Box 4015
Beaverton, OR 97076
Phone: (503) 972-2300

Nike World Headquarters
One Bowerman Drive
Beaverton, OR 97005-6453
Phone: (503) 671-6453

Oh, and Dr. Pepper, Mug root beer, and Lipton are all owned by Pepsi.

exactly address is in beaverton and beaverton is small town and famous for nike facilities and headquarters, that adidas located in beaverton made me think there is relationship

Upon further inspection, I'm going to have to retract my statement about Dr. Pepper and refute the statement about 7 UP.

Apparently Dr. Pepper and 7-UP are owned by the same company, but that company is neither Coke nor Pepsi. Dr. Pepper has some "partnership" with Pepsi, but they are a completely separate entity.

From Dr. Pepper/7 UP FAQ's.

Back to the original topic, Beaverton is 7 miles west of Portland, so it's not that crazy, but why Portland of all places? Maybe we can get RossMAN to give us some info...

i grew up near portland and have been to nike world headquarters. its an amazing place. as far as i know theres no relation between nike and adidas. adidas is a german company so id imagine that the beaverton office is merely their american headquaters. beaverton is where most of the portland areas tech and newer companies are based (at least according to my knowlegde, Rossman might be able to shed more light).

Who cares if Adidas and Nike are in the same city?

Beaverton/Hillsboro/Aloha is our "silicon valley".

Just because Intel, Sequent and Tektronix have offices in Beaverton and are all tech companies, does that mean they're all related to each other? Of course NOT.

Adidas AG corporate headquarters is in Germany. Adidas America's corporate headquarters is in Beaverton, Oregon.

Nike's corporate headquarters also happen to be located in Beaverton, Oregon.

These are two separate corporations which are fierce competitors. Don't ask why they're both in the same city, because I don't know why!

<< I know it's lame, I e-mailed the author of this thread asking him to edit me out of his thread title. >>

Hey, at least you're respected around here...

... thats more than I can say for me. 😀

Sorry, RossMAN, I guess it's kind of my fault for mentioning you, but I knew you're in Portland and would have something intelligent to add to the conversation.

And btw, that last post with the stock symbols was already covered by mithrandir2001 above. REPOST!!!

Hehe that's cool, no sweat off my err ferengi ears. Next time someone could just PM me the threads URL, sure I wouldn't be able to reply to the PM. Since I'm a lazy ass and have over 100 PMs but I'd still see the thread.
