Question Is Adaptive Sync same as G-SYNC?

On some Asus' monitors says:
Supports both Adaptive-Sync with NVIDIA GeForce* graphics cards and FreeSync with AMD Radeon graphics cards *Compatible with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series, GTX 16 series, RTX 20 series and newer graphics cards

What does that even mean??
Does it support Nvidia G-Sync?

Couldn't find it on NVidia GSYNC list.

Not sure if or how often list is updated...

Is it officially "G-Sync Compatible" or not... I would've thought that exact term should be advertised?

If it's officially g-sync certified it will usually use the term G-sync.

Adaptive sync compatibility is what Nvidia cards do with non-gsync monitors. It USUALLY works seamlessly and without issue, though some rare cases happen with certain hardware configurations that cause screen blanking or flicker or other issues.

If a manufacturer is advertising Adaptive sync compatibility on nvidia cards, then it means they've internally tested it and it should work without issue on Nvidia cards. Though it is NOT G-sync.

Is this internally tested by the Manufacturer; or Nvidia?

Coz I've read some monitor-makers did their own inhouse "certification/testing" to sidestep Nvidia's Gsync stamp.

PS: i made a mistake in comment #2 - meant to say "G-Sync Compatible" not "-Certified" edited that.
