Is actually parking between the lines a lost art?

I really cant believe the sheer number of fvcktards that cant seem to get their car between the lines when they park.

yes. yes it is. it isn't helped by people parking their trucks and impalas in the "compact" spaces either

Maybe if they all didn't buy Suburbans and Expeditions just to drive to work in they could fit. You should have to get a different license to drive a vehicle over 5000 lbs.

The weight of the car is proportionately equal to the size of the ass.

I'll try not to take that personally ;)

Actually, my Expedition is really easy to park, something about Ford 4x4's gives them a really sharp turning radius. I will even take a second to back-up and re-center if I dont think I did a nice enough job on my first shot.

So far as a different license, I'm all for it, I could pass it with no problems.

I don't think there's anything wrong with driving an Expedition per se, but if you take someone with lousy parking ability and throw them in a civic, they can park at a bit of an angle and off center in the space, and the car will still be between the lines. You have to be much more precise to fit an Expedition between the lines, however, msot of the people in question could barely manage with the civic, hence the reason for a tougher driving test for larger vehicles.

The parking ramp at school is a good place to find offenders. People are regularly a foot over the line. Of course, the spots are very narrow. I like to put my beat up Civic, perfectly centered in the spot, right next to, literally 4 inches away from, some of these tards. I usually score a nice, close parking spot in this way.

Whenever i see people that cant park within the lines i just pull my tiny VW fox up next to them and park within the lines and i still ahve enough room to get out even though they are half in my side. or i get as close as i can on one side and get out the other.. its their damn fault they cant park

What the hell does this "professor" teach??? :Q

Over here in the UK when I took my test one of the 3 major manoeuvers you had to do was reverse into a parking space, I had to do it on the test and did very well...I think my parking skills are pretty good....but there are so many who just cannot mark....I have a fairly big car for the UK drive (15' 3") and I see people (yes mostly young girls) trying to part their little citreon saxos in reasonably sized spaces and going back and forth, back and forth for hours.....

Corm Thinks: hmmm...back and forth for hours...:D

Be careful of snap judgements though; sometimes the new parker is forced to park in a strange position because the Idiot(s) they parked between / next to were parked goofy. Then the first Idiot(s) leave, and the person that would have parked normally is sitting there looking like another idiot....

Maybe we need window signs: " I had to park this way because the Idiot next to me didn't know how to park...."

My old Service Manager used to have adhesive signs that' he'd stick to the windshield that said " If you Fsck like you Park, you'll never have children .... and that's probably a good thing..."

Of course, if they started handing out major tickets for that, no doubt we'd be seeing "I got this stupid parking ticket, how do I get out of it" threads....

Oh well ..

I never park next to idiots who are parked wrong. I figure if I can't trust them to pull into a spot, I can't trust them to back out without hitting my car.

The parking that pisses me off the most (aside from people parking in handicapped spots) is when they park in the striped out space next to the handicapped space. Most of the time it is between two handicapped spots, effectively making them both useless.

They need that space for wheelchairs and such, farging morons.

if they park over the line on an end spot, maybe they don't want to get door dings

I admit, I suck at parking. But if I'm not centered between the lines, unless there are lots of empty spaces around me, I reverse and do it properly. And if you park an SUV in a compact space, you will get a ding in your door.

I've only seen that once. It was yesterday and it was the funniest thing I've ever seen.
